When a prospective “Mentor Player” uploads his profile and sends video to Big League Mentors the process starts. BLM first reviews the video to ensure that it is in the correct format (see video format for details) and file size. BLM can even edit the video for you if need be (see the deluxe package).The profile and video is either made into a highlight reel and custom profile page or is sent by Big League Mentors to one or several pro scouts depending on which package the player chooses. The scouts then view the video several times each and write up a player evaluation consisting of strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement. For example a scout may say in his evaluation that a player has quick hands, but has a rather long swing. His strength would be his hand speed. His weakness would be a long swing and his area of improvement would be to shorten up his swing. The standard evaluation will include a charted write up of the player's strengths, weaknesses, and areas to improve from a Big League scout/s. It will also include comments from the scout/s. Last, the evaluation will include BLM suggested drill work that is specific to that player to strengthen weaknesses (see the evaluation process). This documented feedback will be signed by the Big League scout performing the evaluation.

One of the most valuable features of BLM services is the opportunity it creates. Obviously there is tremendous opportunity when a player is exposed to a pro scout. Many players may play their entire career and never get a quality look from a pro scout or college coach. BLM uses technology and an extensive network to bridge the gap and bring scouts directly to the player.
